Description of Bunga Kantan

This is the bud of the Torch Ginger (Phaeomaria), Etlingera elatior flower, which is pink in colour.
A lovely frangrance is provided by this ingredient, and is almost an essential requirement for preparing Penang Laksa and also for rojak.
